Well I think I agree with most of what you say. And i do not think the link is being made that the vital and necessary criticism of Israel can be seen in any shape or form as anti-semitic. I think you are most accurate in drawing attention to the woeful tendency of making the concept of Jewishness a monolith (and a reflection of a generalised failure of thinking, to put it kindly). You could I am sure, as I could, demonstrate the great variety of Jewish perspectives (and Palestinian ones) on the state of Israel, especially bringing attention to that vital stream of Jewish orthodoxy which has always been against Zionism, and especially the thousands of Jewish groups contributing to the fight ...

For many, alas, inhumanity in distant lands enables the intensities of emotional catharsis unavailable in their domestic situation. This would seem, to me at least, to be a fairly traditional consensus across studies of human violence and aggression.
