Interesting article, what would be the natural predator of a honeybee? I will have to google this and find out. What would I do without my honey. Also, read your clip on Calcium and Vitamin D; honey is also another way to get calcium absorbed into the body quickly; the best way is usually via a smoothie with yogurt, milk, honey (1/3 cup) and any type of berry that one likes and banana. Very tasty and great anytime of the year.

Great tip! I tend to be lax when it comes to taking something every day - in pill form.

When I lived in Cal a few years back, I was there when they were experimenting with the honey bee and the african killer bee. Trying to make the african killer more domestic, so to speak by breeding them together. I often wondered what, if any, the repercussions would be. When I read this article, it just felt like something went awry. On the other hand, maybe it's climate change related?

There has been an encroachment of parasites from Europe/Asia in the honeybee population in the States. That along with other pressures are likely leading to this die-off.
