The comment by the woman who claimed that Obama was an Arab was the clinching justification that a large segment of the McCain supporters are deluded, gullible, and ignorant. It concerned me that people could be so easily manipulated into believing such fantastic claims. In some ways it reminded me of the frenzy I was told about in 1930's Germany against the already hated Jews and Gypsies. We've come too far in 50 years to allow this type of hate to enter back into American discourse.

It will be a great triumph when Obama is elected president.

But this is not certain so if we don't want to go down the tubes into fascism, or racial or religious hate being stirred up, we got to vote and speak out stronger than ever for Obama now.

Obama now!

It's the old "us vs. them" trick from fascism.

Not to mention that McCain's statement that Obama was not an Arab; "No no, he's a decent person" is certain to piss off Arab-Americans, and the US's Arab allies, since it implies that he thinks Arabs aren't decent people.

Excellent point. I've wondered why this wasn't picked up by the media. If nothing else, it points out the political tin ear that is operative in the Republican party.
