Rudy Giuliani is a user. His gay "friends" were perfectly fine when he was in need, but not good enough to attend their wedding. The politics of hate trumped friendship and they were right to publicize his bigotry. I love that photo, which conveys more meaning than 1,000 words.

Here are the current state of politics in the state of New York. The current governor David Patterson, who is Democratic said he would push forward legislation making gay/lesbian marriage legal.

Republicans, in general, have always been opposed to equal rights for gays/lesbians.

Rudy Guiliani wants to run for governor. He cannot get elected if he does not have the support of his base. He cannot show up at a gay/lesbian marriage and then say he opposes gay/lesbian marriage.
