It was too close for comfort and it made the skipper say that he thought his team had become relaxed after the seventh West Indian wicket had fallen. The West Indies had Denesh Ramdin still at the crease and as we have seen all it takes is for a tailender to bat sensibly and give the more accomplished batsman more of the strike and the impossible looks possible. The champion West Indies teams of the 70s and 80s had players like these and who can forget the last wicket stand between the incomparable Viv Richards and Michael Holding when they added more than 100 runs with Richards ending up unbeaten on 189 and West Indies, who were down in the dumps till Holding joined him, ended up with a score nearer 300. Luckily for the Indians the current West Indies team does not seem to have the same winning habit as those great teams of the past and so India were able to scrape through with a 20 runs margin. </DIV></blockquote></div><div style="margin: 0px 6px 6px 4px;"><table style="font-size: 11px;border-spacing: 0px;padding: 0px;" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr><td style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;"> </td><td align="right" style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;width:107px" width="107"><a href="http://clipmarks.com/share/B0C87A19-F2CB-4651-AE8A-BE469BFC743B/blog/" title="blog or email this clip"><img src="http://content9.clipmarks.com/images/c2b-foot.png" border="0" alt="blog it" width="107" height="17" style="border-width:0px;padding:0px;margin:0px;" /></a></td></tr></table></div></div>
