                        I also have this camera.  The same thing happened to me.  My battery just flashed red and will not charge.  I called Casio at 1-800-435-7732 and explained the problem.  The rep told me this had been a problem with the lithiam battery and they are sending me a new one free of charge.  I was disappointed this happened,  but was pleased they would resolve the issue so quickly.  So, it is definitely a battery problem and just call them to get it resolved.

                        I had the same problem with a battery that was less than a year old.  Probably only charged it 10 times max.  Anyway, called the number that Lisa H. posted, on a Sunday,  and ten minutes later I have a new battry headed my way.
