I joined clipping December the 2nd of 2005. I joined because I love surfing the net and collecting bookmarks. I love sharing them with people and discussing them too. Clipmarks promised to do that and more and I have not been disappointed. When did you join and why?

Joined 15 April 2006. I wanted to keep track of what I was reading off the net. I also wanted to find out about what others were reading so I started looking for a good social bookmarking site. I came across Clipmarks and found out it was a thousand times better than social bookmarking.

Now I'm a clip-hippie!

I just joined clipmarks and so far I'm enjoying all the links and articles others have shared with me. Haven't figured out how to share mine yet.

I joined because knslyr told me to, and I'm having the best time ever!

Please address all criticism to knslyr.

I joined while surfing Firefox website for extensions and came across the Clipmark extension. I visited the CM website first, read a few clips and comments, was impressed with everything, went back to Firefox and downloaded and installed the extension. That was in January of 2006.

I'm still here and still happy with the fact that I can clip health related articles and recipes, and clippages of tech news and current events that interest me. Most of all, I've been extremely happy not only with the variations in reading content and interests that have been shared for review and preview by all members, but most of all the commraderie between everyone. It's been a real pleasure communicating / sharing with you all!

I joined January 14, 2006. I joined because I wanted a web-based substitute for Opera's Notes (I was using the Opera browser at the time and loved being able to save recipes that I found). I haven't used Opera's Notes since.

I joined on April 22 2006. I found Clipmarks through the extension on Addons.Mozilla.org as I was searching for tools to organise information/research etc. I wasn't active (create my first clip) till May 24 2006. I take brief breaks once in a while (these breaks usually last 2 weeks, sometimes more).

However I use Google Notebook to organise research while I use Clipmarks to learn.

A good reason to send our thanks to knslyr, then.

I joined on November 10th 2005. I was looking for a cool tool to collect and categorize the information that I searched and found on the web. I was tired of saving the pages as html files or printing them as pdf docs, creating a hard to manage bulk of files. EverNote was fine but not very practical; Scholar's Aid could only save the pages as a whole.

I was thinking, "How good it would be, if there'd be something which would allow one to cut the needed info from a web page and put them in a folder on the web, to build a neat -and shareable- collection."...

I can't recall when I joined, I can't recall how I joined, all I know, one day I found myself in awe with this website, and I'm still trying to figure out what is it about this site which makes me come back every day.

Something tells me this site hides some magic potion behind their codes, I know it is not the cookies they leave on our computer, it is some new discovery or some new magical neurons linked between the brain and the monitor which makes us come back again and again. Or I give up, I don't know what it is.......

It is so awesome to read these stories. Great clip skwirl.

i first joined clipmarks in the summer of 2005. It was a very exciting, anxious, scary, lonely moment as there weren't many other people on the site. Kind of like being at a party before anyone else shows up.

what a journey it's been ever since. sure doesn't feel lonely anymore. it feels like the party is filing up with great people!

oh, whatever potion arifsali is referring to, someone must have slipped it into my drink a long time ago because i sure know what he's talking about and can't explain it either

Here's a link to my first clip (the first clip)

Wow, What an Idea!!!
The official Clipmarks Timeline!

I wouldn't do it but thats only because I'm lazy about that stuff.

It would be awesome to see it running live, showing new members as they join.

Godfrey had posted on grupthink that this was one of his favorite web 2.0 sites.

And so I followed the link Godfrey posted, and fell in love with this site, it was the perfect solution for my news addiction. I hated bookmarking whole stories, it created a cluttered mess. But I love clipping sections of news stories, and of course now I clip anything I find interesting.

I joined clipmarks 30 december 2005.

I guess (not so sure) I discovered it through the Mashable or PC Magazine review.

My first clip was entitled 'How Windows Activation Works in Short'.

The great thing for me was that it abled me to share interesting stuff I found on the web & discover interesting stuff other people found. This without the need to maintain a 'look at me, love me, love me, i'm so special' blog.

I started to appreciate the community aspect of it followin...

More to discuss:

What is your favorite tag at ClipMarks and why?

Do you find yourself following certain clippers unintentionally because they clip what you want to see? Do you add them to your follow list?

Disappearing Clippers: Do you often wonder what happened to Clippers that you were following that no longer appear?
Like Who? BigBadWolf

How many times have you changed your profile picture and why did you change it?

Can you name one bad change that was made to ClipMarks since you started clipping?

What is the best feature of ClipMarks?

What is one thing you would like to see at ClipMarks?

Do you know what the 10 Clipmandments is?

I rarely ever look at tags.

Do you find yourself
following certain clippers unintentionally because they clip what you
want to see? Do you add them to your follow list?

That's hard to answer. I don't have many clippers in my follow list. I do follow certain clippers around on purpose. Sometimes I rifle through their trash.

Disappearing Clippers: Do you often wonder what happened to Clippers that you were following that no longer appear?
Like Who? BigBadWolf and I miss thebeatpoet when he's absent for long periods of time.

You seem to be quite curious skwirl;

As to the favourite tags:
Visualization, because I just like a visual help in trying to comprehend something.
Literature, because I use this tag as a 'flagged to read tag'; mostly lengthy articles, essays, papers/ lists of online publications/ & ebooks. (also try article*, [url=http://www.clipmarks.com/tags/essay*/sort/newest-clips+latest-pops+latest-comm...

Oops, that didn't fit the 2000 character limit. Here's what follows:

As for the bad change ... that would be the pop restrictions

What would I like to see? More users, more clips, more contributions.

So skwirl (& all), what about you?

I use funny a lot but there is no favourite tag.
I do follow Kore7 and invictus a lot as they clip stuff related to science, history etc. However everyone else either provides current affairs or a good chuckle.
Well RecordSage has told us several times what's BBW's upto. So not really. I do miss him though.
Well I changed it to the Indian Flag after the Bombay Blasts. Why ? For the same reason Americans were over patriotic after 9/11. Then changed it back after Eric (G) suggested it.
Well I would like to see the POP limits to pressed on new clips, not the old ones (I know skwirl wanted to clip Kore7s "Fifty Tools for Writers Clip" so...)

- favorite tag: religion, politics, science
- Yes, I follow certain clippers, and some I don't, I'm happily biased
- Yes, I wonder about disappearing clippers only because CM provides a personalized environment to care about each other; however, it is sad that we must have many more clippers who do not speak up through comments or they don't clip a lot, hence we do not miss them if they disappear for few days or so. This isn't CM's fault or anything, the same situation persist across all the social groups and email listservs.

My favorite tag is "Health" because I have a reason to research a few things-specifically.

I tend to follow Invictus because of similar interests. I usually follow EricG for his Clipmark updates and alternative energy clips. Then I view live clips for Titles that look interesting. But... I always go through "My Clippers" one by one and see what they're clippin'.

Yes, I wonder about BBW and one other person.

I changed my profile pic not long ago because I had a personal identity crisis. But changed it back a couple of weeks later.

Humor because a lot of the clips just make my day.

Art, writing, reading, and books because they're a HUGE part of my life.

Science, religion, and people because there's a lot to learn out there.

What is your favorite tag at ClipMarks and why?

The only tag I ever search is music, and then only after an absence.

Do you find yourself following certain clippers unintentionally because they clip what you want to see? Do you add them to your follow list?

I used to have folk on my list buy deleted them all because of the impression that it gives. I follow clips, not clippers, and I try not to miss a clip.

Disappearing Clippers: Do you often wonder what happened to Clippers that you were following that no longer appear?

Yes, and one of my top requests, if not the top, is a browsable clippers list, and clipper searchability.

Okay, I just tried this a second time and I still couldn't comment. Maybe I'll try breaking it into two posts.

What is your favorite tag at ClipMarks and why? Recipes!

Do you find yourself following certain clippers unintentionally because they clip what you want to see? Do you add them to your follow list? I don't follow any clippers. *hides* I just try to follow all of the clips and when I've been away for a while, I try to do some back-reading.

Disappearing Clippers: Do you often wonder what happened to Clippers that you were following that no longer appear?

Can you name one bad change that was made to ClipMarks since you started clipping? I'm still not stuck on the popping limit, but I understand why the Clipmarks boys implemented it.

What is the best feature of ClipMarks? The toolbar buttons.

What is one thing you would like to see at ClipMarks? I'll echo the members list...and there was something that I said the last time that I typed this up, but I can't remember what it was...

Do you know what the 10 Clipmandments is? I know that they exist and I saw them, but I don't remember the actual clipmandments.

I honestly don't have a favorite tag since I see almost every clip and therefore don't have to search, but if i had to choose, i think it would be alternative energy.

I joined cause someone had to be the first member...

I follow some clippers, but usually only go to there page when I've been away for a while in code land and don't have time to catch up on all clips. I visit Kore7's comments page regularly to keep up on his witty and insightful comments.

I wonder too about bbw and if he'll be back. As for the rest, it seems every time i think to myself where has this user gone, they show back up. There are a lot of users that were around a lot more often in the past that I would lov...

I had been searching for stand-alone or web-based software that would allow me to save portions of web sites for archival purposes. Fortunately for me a google search turned up Clipmarks. The rest is history!

What is your favorite tag at ClipMarks and why?
Don't have one.

Do you find yourself following certain clippers unintentionally because they clip what you want to see?
Yes. There are certain clippers who consistently clip interesting and useful information. As an example, Invictus for science, philosophy and world-wide discovery... and travislaborde for excellent programming and development clips!

Hi, TJ joined clipmarks on Aug. 4 2006 with an inception clip about my soon to be new favorite tag Wii! I am looking forward to getting my game on.

I joined clipmarks beccaue its nice to have a roll-edx of the links I read or research. I hate having teh feeling of having visited a site and not being able to rember names or relocating the link, when I wanna re-visit it. The community seems diverse and inteligent. I find a good variety of information on the ClipRoll. The site offers interisting features, a good sources of community.
