I don't think G will ever tap MS's share of the OS market, but at least this may make linux more appealing to the layman.

This is an old story... Google is still liked to Ubuntu though. The latest Ubuntu convention was held at Google headquarters. Linux usage around the world and the fact that it is free, easy install and has great support has been helping people adapt to this alternative to Microsoft Windows.
