I have congestive heart failure and I'm only 43 so for those of you who think I'm too young to have heart problems, think again. A virus go into my heart mussel and weakened it.

The shortness of breath to me felt like I had been holding my breath. I in fact kept thinking to myself, I must have been holding my breath... (thats just what it felt like I had been doing) ...I kept wondering to myself why I keep holding my breath.

By the time I finally realized that something was not right, my ejection factor (ef) had gotten down to just 15%, An ef of 40% is considered heart failure with 60% being normal.

There really is no such thing as "too young" to worry about these symptoms. My father was a young 38 when he suffered from congestive heart failure, and I have heard stories of people in their 20s.

Aside from the one regarding the prostate, women should not ignore these symptoms either. Heart disease is the number one killer of women, after all.
