Green consumerism is a selling trick that sucks up the green consumers who want an easy way to being 'green' without having to live a green life. A bit like religion.

Green advertising only hit those countries that are major hitters on the environment, and those that can afford to go green. But the idea of going green has become more proliferated. And I am glad it has.

I am a '60's greenie. I've been into recycling before it became the cause of the wealthy and famous, and the governments new pet projects. Aluminum, newsprint and magazines, and plastics, are the things I have recycled for years. Now I'm adding electronics to this list.

This is a quote from the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) website.

"In 2005, used or unwanted electronics amounted to
approximately 1.9 to 2.2 million tons. Of that, about
1.5 to 1.9 million tons were primarily discarded in landfills,
and only 345,000 to 379,000 tons were recycled.
