Get it right, n2. Terror is an idea, an action, a tactic. It is not a people, nor a region, nor a religion, nor a group. Shooting a bullet at a terrorist is not shooting a bullet at terror. To believe that terror can be beaten in a particular region by the extermination of a single group of individuals is beyond foolish, particularly at the expense of even more human souls, the souls you emptily claim to value so dearly.

Get it right, n2. Terror is an idea, an action, a tactic. It is not a people, nor a region, nor a religion, nor a group. Shooting a bullet at a terrorist is not shooting a bullet at terror. To believe that terror can be beaten in a particular region by the extermination of a single group of individuals is beyond foolish, particularly at the expense of even more human souls, the souls you emptily claim to value so dearly.

We have become that which those who support the war claim to be fighting... terrorists who come as foreigners to a distant land and kill and maim the weak, the innocent, and the needy. It is no wonder that the notion of terror as a functional tool of power has grown; we have shown the world how weak and ineffective we are against it. It is the Achilles Heel of our once proud society.

If we are, supposedly, as so many assert, a nation based on Xtian values, why is we didn't do what the teachings of that mythical man taught us to? Why didn't we love our neighbor? Why didn't we turn the other cheek? Why did we not show our power and strength in being able to take the greatest blow they could throw at us while standing strong in the face of it by carrying on as if it were only a scratch? That isn't to say there was no need for accountability and legal retribution, but how, by showing ourselves to be two-year olds on a temper-tantrum of inhuman proportion, bent on destruction and death, have we shown ourselves to be anything but weak and hate-filled, proving to those who weren't sure that we are the monsters a few had said we were? How do thousands more of our sons and daughters dying while our own people stand in need of food and medical care do we show ourselves to be anything but a nation of takers and shameless crooks and thieves not concerned with good, but with ill-tempered greed?

This is the problem I have with the anti-war liberals. They can not make the distinction between our soldiers who are killing those trying to kill you, and terrorist groups such as al Qaeda who kill indiscriminately. "We support the troops even though they are no better than the terrorists" is a phony cry. At least in Vietnam they had the courage to spit directly in the soldier's faces instead of pretending to support them as they do today.

We even have insurgents who are stopping their insurgency and are trying to bring peace to their neighborhoods by fighting the terrorists. The Iraqis are starting to stand up and fight for their own country and the liberals want nothing more than for us to desert them to their fate and let the country fall just so they can blame it on Bush. What they don't see is that if we lose it won't be Bush's loss, it will be America's loss. But they are willing to chop off their nose to spite their face.
