thisnamecantbetaken says: For eight years, Christian conservatives had "Lord Bush." Now, liberals have "Lord Obama." Seems to me that gods come pretty cheap these days. As a non-American, this is very much the way it seems. Nothing really matters, but beating the other side. Left vs right feuding, instead of right vs wrong. So much time wasted fighting each other, instead of fighting for your supposed values and principles Is this really what America is all about? Think about it. Excellent clip. Sadly everything you say is so true. "So much time wasted fighting each other, instead of fighting for your supposed values and principles Is this really what America is all about? Think about it." It wasn't designed that way in the beginning, but unfortunately it has come to that. I'm sure our founding fathers roll over in their graves a number of times each day. I'm american and it sickens me! It all seems to be one big soap box opera, bickering amongst the troops that are suppose to represent and guide us through their representation. Seems to be a lot of truth in.... Is this really what America is all about? Think about it. I've never heard one Obama supporter refer to Obama as a Messiah or savior or as a gift from god. That entire line of trash comes from the right. That entire line of trash comes from the right.I think you've missed the point of the clip, Oort. I may have. Been putting in 15 to 18 hour days at work so my mental acuity isn't exactly honed these days We do have a divided country and it continues to get worse. It is like two opposing football teams that hate each other except now it is liberal vs conservative and everybody wants their team to win. It is sad, but it seems like human nature is the problem and it always will be. That is why wars are started, prejudice, and hatred. It makes you wonder how our forefathers decided on "United" in "The United States of America"? But WHY does it continue to get worse? What drives this division? I mean, here we I live, we of course have "lefties" and "righties", but we also have a whole lot of people somewhere in between. (Most). So we don't label each other and box people in, and we certainly don't get so terribly angry and aggressive towards each other. Americans seem very "protective" of America on the surface, yet they "hate" half of their fellow Americans! That's just odd to me, that they would seem to be their own worst enemies. What would the solution be, to make Americans treat each other nicer? No matter what side they're on? Can it be done? Ah hell we're just alike, well kind of. We have a left, right, middle, and variations of each. We have people who love and people who hate, people who do all the things you and yours do. We're just a little louder. Louder and .... who knows..... maybe prouder? Which leads me to that bad press thing. LOTS and LOTS of bad press! what you see on TV! |
