Beefy! Just a reminder: The Bush administration originally estimated the cost to be $50-60 billion. It is only slightly off. Besides, Haliburton only provided them estimates before. You must realize that when a contractor estimates, they need to have the right to adjust the estimate for unexpected problems they may encounter or unexpected expenses incurred, etc. Don't worry -- if things work out well, Bush and friends have it covered. My guess is part of the paperwork the Iraqi government signed has a clause somewhere that says that in order to compensate the US for it's help that 60% of the sales (not net profit) of Oil going to other countries in the world, will be given to the US. 30% of that will go to repay the US war debt, the other 30% is split between the Bush Admin's Oil Company Buddies. |
