Why do I think these modest remediation figures are designed to be *politically* realistic, not scientifically accuarate? However, there is clearly a need for serious money to be invested to even have a chance of meeting these most modest of goals.

'cos they are - that's what the IPCC was about - but at least it has the science to guide it.
