That ain't going to fly, even if it reeks of "market solutions" crap. The D-s in Congress told Shinseki to shove it back where it came from. Who got this crazy idea, I do not know.

Well, I do have to give the man credit for bringing both sides together.

The only thing I really find surprising about this whole thing is how surprised the Obama supporters are with his proposals. Had they bothered to actually look at his record before hand they would have expected this. I know I did.

While you are right on the issue, n2, your criticism is quite callow given the silence you held as Bush cut and cut and cut some more any reasonable funding of veterans care.

Being a disabled vet, I would have raised hell if Bush had cut benefits. Problem here is that he didn't. Fact is, vet spending increased more in Bush's first term than in Clinton's entire term. Bush cutting vet benefits is a myth that the msm helped spread but never bothered correcting. And if yoy don't believe me, check Snopes.
