"It reminds me of Vietnam, the war which George Bush watched from the skies over Texas – which may account for why he this week mixed up the end of the Vietnam war with the genocide in a different country called Cambodia, whose population was eventually rescued by the same Vietnamese whom Mr Bush's more courageous colleagues had been fighting all along." Often forgotten. Yes. Bush's recent comparisons of Iraq to the occupation of Japan after WWII, and his suggestions of what would have been better policy in Vietnam, and his total twisted inside-out reversal and lies about who did what in Cambodia were...pathetic. Post WWII, Japan didn't have any sectarian violence or religious divisions. Vietnam officials have expressed displeasure that the 'solution,' to their righteous nation struggle would have been better served by a longer occupation. Worst comparison of all: Cambodia, which we bombed, destabilized, laid the groundwork for the killing fields, and the murderous violence was only stopped by the intervention of the newly liberated Vietnam. As I have re... the Bush White House lives in a "fact-free' environment.and their disciples have learnt well. There is a very clear pattern to how they deal with the truth. Maybe after blindly following a lying earthly leader that bothering with a little matter like the truth is inconvenient! |
