There is no one brain part which when taken away would suddenly rob you of your ability to read. We rely on the same old brain — the same brain that we inherited from our Homo Sapiens ancestors 200,000 years ago when they appeared in Africa. This means that the same brain that hunted wildlife and walked thru Ice Ages is the same brain that can now read a book a day.

carrerinyes, I read your clip, and I am trying to figure out what exactly are you getting at? who cares that we don't have a section our brain dedicated to reading? The only point to make is that reading has obviously advanced the human species. Maybe outside the genetic makeup scheme there is another "scheme" that's makes us lean toward words as a mechanism for survival.
