又叫長壽草、八丈草，原產地為日本東京都八丈島，明日葉可以從荒涼大地中發芽，可見明日葉有股不可思議的生命力，據說是古代秦始皇命窮其一生之力所欲追尋之長生不老藥。明日葉適合在海拔1,000到1,600公尺的高山，完全自然、無農藥、無化學肥料的環境下生長。
