I have only seen a badger when it was dead. It had been hit by a car, so I had to get out and look. From video I have seen and descriptions of friends who have encountered them, badgers have no fear, and they are very aggressive.
Even dead, badgers are really scary looking creatures. A big dog is not as scary. They are bigger than they seem, and they can rear up like racoons (another scary creature).
The badger that I found was almost 4 ft long and very wide. Its claws are used for digging, but they were still long and sharp, as were its teeth.

Where I am, it is mainly the raccoons that are of concern, they are gigantic here, and very aggressive, I have not heard any news of badger attacks, but recently on the local news have been reports of wolves and a few bear incidents! I always keep an eye out at night, it's not the people I watch out for, it's the critters, lol.
