Well, the bible tells us that in the end Christians will be put to death for believing in Christ. Everywhere we see Christians retreating as militant atheism and Islam advances. It's to be expected. Oh please. Nothing Biblical about this. Just an over reaction by some. It is a religious college after all, so the symbols fit. I can understand being a bit tiresome seeing it all over the place, but that's part of it being a faith based institution. Now if it were say in a state university, that would be different. Oh please, is right. I'm against all religions and idolatry, yet I'd never be offended by any religious person wearing any adornment that might be considered religious. If crucifixes are normally places around this college with a particular religious ethos, then they should continue doing so. Is anyone forcing the member of the 'offended religion' to attend? It very much strikes me that this member of the 'offensive religion' wishes to fell offended. Is the offended person another of the fake hoax hate crime brigade? After beating up on the Gazan children, is it now the turn of Catholics and the Pope? Is the Crucifix to be banned next as atonement for the holocaust? When will... I assume the Biology professor is Jewish, since he is a student adviser to a Jewish student group and the professor of Eastern & Slavic languages ?--when they were interviewing for their positions, did they not realize that Boston College is a Catholic school? What did they expect, that BC would bend over backwards to accommodate them? Oh, pleeeaaase. Maybe the Jesuits should take back all the teaching positions, all Jesuits teaching at a Catholic college--then lets hear them howl when they lose their positions. |
