<sarcasm>We don't need an embarrassing candidate like Republican Ron Paul. One embarrassing Republican running the country is more than enough...</sarcasm> How about he & Gravel as a third-party common-sense ticket, co-presidents at that? I'd trust them more than The Decider, even if they were drunk. They could call it the "Blame America First" party. Obviously no room for dissent in the Republican party. If Senator Chuck Hagel, marine veteran from Nebraska, ran and called Iraq a disaster I wonder if they would try to boot him off the island. And I wonder how a pro-war candidate would fare in the democrat party? They wouldn't do anything like run him out of the party and force him to run as an independent or anything like that, would they? Nice try. Lieberman was a pro-war candidate in 2004 and was allowed to participate in all debates as he ran for the presidency. Lieberman didn't run for the presidency in 2004. He ran for reelection to his senate seat and the democrats rejected him. They shunned an incumbent with a great deal of seniority because his dissent on this one issue. I don't see any suggestions from republicans to oust Paul from his seat, just to oust him from future debates. Fact is you really do need to cut down the debate field as time goes on to weed out those who don't stand a chance at the nomination from taking up time from those who do. And as of right now, Paul stands about as much chance of getting the nomination as Lieberman would if he declared a run for the democrat nomination. BR, Once again you dig a hole. How are any of the Dem candidates different from one another ? He's better than Rue Paul! Well, sooners you will have to explain this Joe Lieberman for President 2004 web store since he didn't run. Did I not really see him on stage debating the other candidates in 2004 at the debate I personally attended? It's one thing for the voters of a state or congressional district to decide on a candidate they want to represent them. It's another thing for the Republican National Committee to try and gag a member of their party from speaking. Well let's make sure we aren't just nitpicking English. Joe Lieberman ran for the Democratic Nomination to be the Democratic candidate for the Presidential election. He was allowed to participate in all debates. Whatever. |
