merrie says: This week marks the second time children have been targeted by those who don't like John McCain. And before his supporters on the political right puff up in indignation over what happened to the Palins, they should remember what the right did to McCain in 2000. The victim was his daughter Bridget, found by Cindy McCain at Mother Teresa's orphanage in Bangladesh, brought to the U.S. for medical treatment and adopted. In the South Carolina primary, anonymous McCain opponents used a telephone "push poll" across the state, asking voters what they thought of McCain's "illegitimate" black child. McCain lost South Carolina, and the Republican nomination. McCain actually once joke "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno." This was when Chelsea was a very young teen. Maybe you get what you give on his part. That still does not give anyone the excuse to sink as low as he has been known to, nor to attack Sarah Palin's family. But McCain is no angel, and he is not above dirty politics. I'm no fan of McCain's, period. The election cycle politics are becoming increasingly venomous, especially from the sick MoveOn and Kos. The so-called media are creating news, instead of reporting news. Weren't you backing Romney? This may interest you, http://www.sltrib.com/ci_10359548 Not sure what's going on at the convention, I am tuned in to Ron Paul's convention, but am getting updates as much as possible, the delegates seem not so much in agreement with one another. sahara....can you show evidence for your claim about McCain/Chelsea. I'm not saying it's not true. Some called her James McDougal's child. All of which is disgusting. But I'd like a little more info if you have it. jatfla, all that I know is it has been posted often for many years, but never debunked and has not made it to snopes, it was written of originally in an Arizona paper, the joke was made at a republican dinner/fundraiser and has been referred to, as well as buried, often. Here are just a few places the story resides: http://blogs.trb.com/news/local/longisland/politics/blog/2008/02/past_mccains_old_chelsea_joke.html http://www.salon.com/news/1998/06/25newsb.html http://www.jedreport.com/2008/02/pimprenomccain.html http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2006/7/5/00548.shtml http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2008/sep/02/women.johnmccain http://www.crooksandliars.com/20... Weren't you backing Romney? This may interest you Thanks, sahara. You're exactly right. Originally, I backed Fred Thompson, but he was too slow out of the gate, so I switched to Romney, then McCain, Huckabee and Paul all secretly plotted in NH to throw their delegates behind McCain. (instead of Romney) Next, came Florida, Crist backed McCain and Giuliana dropped out. and the rest is history, after Arnold in California. (instead of Romney) should have read "to stop Romney" Some Utah delegates still say they will vote for Romney --- The Salt Lake Tribune Lord says she's hoping to avoid a public disagreement by calling for the actual roll call of Utah delegates but is unsure Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., the head of the delegation, will allow her to cast a ballot for Romney. "I don't necessarily want it to go to that," she said of a roll call vote. One of those pushing that move is Don Guymon, an avowed Ron Paul supporter who said in an interview that he wants to be able to vote for Mitt Romney. "My intent isn't to showboat, it isn't to grandstand," Guymon said. "My intent is to uphold my promise to vote for Mitt Romney." Another delegate, Brian Je... |
