AtlLiberal says:
A Massachusetts bigot gets fired. Good for him. And thank you Faux News for being far and balanced in your news story. As they say, actions have repercussions.

Why was he offended? Isn't marriage a happy occasion?

Apparently god wanted him to be fired. Is he too stupid to see that message?

Should the woman not have been fired as well. After all, she was pushing onto him first.

The following in the story was not clipmarked:
"Vadala claims the woman, whom he declined to identify, mentioned four times that she had married her partner. He said he then left the store briefly to visit the airport's chapel before returning.

"I found it offensive that she repeatedly brought it up," Vadala said. "By the fourth time she mentioned it, I felt God wanted me to express how I felt about the matter, so I did. But my tone was downright apologetic. I said, 'Regarding your homosexuality, I think that's bad stuff.'"

The woman, according to Vadala, then said, "Human resources, buddy — keep your opinions to yourself," before exiting the store.

Two days later, Vadala, who had been em...

So mentioning that you're getting married is harassment?

I don't think so. Unless gay marriage is particularly offensive, which it is not.

Its not mentioning the fact that you are getting married that is offensive, its that she did it four times, all four times along with that its to another woman. She was pushing her lifestyle onto him; almost as if she wanted someone to say something to her.

She was pushing her lifestyle onto him
LOL! So your argument is that if a straight woman were to mention her impending marriage she's pushing her "lifestyle" upon the recipient of the news?

Look at this in a different light. If it was a white woman saying she was marrying a black man (or vice versa) and the guy said that then you can easily see that this was blatant bigotry.

It's no better than him telling a woman "Regarding sexual equality, I really don't think women have the skills for managerial work".

AtlLiberal, if her being straight was not the norm, yes. When you know your lifestyle, whether you feel its by choice or by genes, is, to say the least, controversial to some, then you have the due diligence to not push it upon others. She was pushing it; and thus should have been fired!

You've got to me kidding me! Not the norm?! Homosexuality has been around for as long as mankind. It's been witnessed and documented in many MANY animal species.

The only ones that are not the norm are those that are intolerant to it.

James, you are confusing what a person chooses to be with what a person is. I choose to be Democratic. I choose to live in the South. A person doesn't choose their race, ethnicity or eye color. Nor does a person choose their sexual orientation. It is who they are.

People who judge others by what group they fall into because of race, ethnicity, or sexual preference are, by definition, prejudiced. They are making assumptions about the actions of others based on stereotypes, not on the attributes of that individual.
