Mary Midgley has some cool stuff to say on this topic She scares Richard Dawkins: and she is still teaching at 91, lol Excellent clip. I am unconvinced by evolutionist's claims. I suggest that others like me read Dawkins' books. I have, and many others in opposition (supporting Intelligent design). The books supporting Intelligent design are much more grounded in facts and science, where books supporting evolution are heavily bent on philosophy and conjecture. It really is an amazing phenomenon. Those that say they are guided by science are metaphysical, philosophical, and impose qualifications on their ideas, while those at the other end of the spectrum tend not display such. I absolutely love science and I am troubled by the blanket of philosophy and emotion that is taking it's place. I also find it amazing to see here at CM all the "experts" on evolution and anti-Christianity by those who could not carry out a conversation on either topic. I really don't see what all the to-do is about. I believe God created man through evolution. I believe He created the universe with the big bang. To me, it all makes perfect sense. There's not really a conflict between the two theories, to me. Hudgal, the "to-do" is about scientific validity, not about God. If you agree with or belive in evolution, then explain why. There are matrialist philosophies and concepts that do not stand up to scrutiny. Evolution is one of them. Evolution may very well be a fact, but it is unproven. Furthermore, valid scientific theories gain credibility over time. Evolution has not gained credibilty, it has had huge gaping holes shot through it and has made many fraudulent assertions. My main concern is that those that disagree with the assertions of evolution still study closely the claims. There is nothing to be gained if those that question evolution have closed minds like those on the other side of the debate. |
