This article is a clear a vivid representation of why a new outlook on educating our future citizens need to be considered. Society is losing access to some of our finest minds because students do not have a opportunity to be educated to their fullest ability. We should abolish the relationship between money and educating the world's students of excellence. Education: the key to break the chains of poverty. www.enocis.org

People seem reluctant to see these people as the "slave class". They don't get food, shelter or clothing from their masters. They get a pittance to provide themselves with food, shelter and clothing. They don't get the care that slaves under a fair "owner" would have been given, they are replaced if they underperform.
Slave owners recognize that educating people might give them ideas above their standing.

Good article and point taken. An additional point would be the "employment agencies" and temporary service outfits who stand on the heads of these good folks in areas where factories do not wish to be involved with direct hire and the so-called benefits of full-time employment. These temps earn even less than the regulars and do most of the actual work.

Precisely the predicament in which I find myself. I had to take a test in knowledge of MS Office to get this job yet I train people who don't have a clue how to use Windows... and get paid the same as me. When someones spreadsheet gets corrupted, they come to me to re-write it. When my co-workers, who are permanent employees, have projects, I get my work and their work, too. And they're paid three times as much as me.

I'm not in my home state and I don't want to stay here, so I don't look for a job anywhere else.
