I think I saw this debunked a couple months ago here (on clipmarks). This picture just goes to show, that like statistics, it's all about "the angle". Still a good clip. If I was a polar bear that's what I'd be doing... it's not like they can't swim. They did not appear to be in danger…I did not see the bears get on the ice, and I did not see them get off. I cannot say either way if they were stranded or not. . . . the bears are not in danger at all.The old argument from ignorance deserves the old reply. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Despite yet another logical fallacy posted by n2sooners, I'm still not convinced about the vast conspiracy by hundreds of scientific institutions and thousands of scientists to fool oil companies. We know, you would rather believe those who weren't there and lied about who took the picture than the person who was there and actually took the picture. No, you'd rather contort what the person who was there said to make it meet your preconceived notion. Read again what the photographer said. I did not see the bears get on the ice, and I did not see them get off. I cannot say either way if they were stranded or not. This is not evidence that the bears were not stranded. Sorry. And by the way, you also twisted what I wrote. I did not say there is evidence that the bears are stranded. Perhaps Gore was wrong. But we don't have any evidence that this is the case based on what you posted. so you're saying that because the "stranded" theory cannot be confirmed or denied it is therefore true? The scientific method would disagree with you there. thinboy, look at your post, then look about 1 inch higher. You'll see the following: And by the way, you also twisted what I wrote. I did not say there is Now, look at my post, and tone it down a few notches on the rudeness scale. Sorry about the attitude. |
