I will never ever forget the day when my father, a public school teacher, told me he voted against anyone his union endorsed, because those candidates would be pro-choice. Well, that's not exactly the same thing now that I think about it, just similar. My father was a "conscious supporter of social" policies "antithetical to his own interests." He happily voted for Republicans who were hostile to public education because of their anti-abortion views. I'm not sure if that phenomenon has a name. |
