Maybe I'm missing something here. How does doing away with the START Treaty make us safer? Terrorists are not going to have the same nuclear capability as the U.S. even with reductions. I don't see how our capability to strike any place in the world will limited anytime soon.

That is correct. And the Russians already have developed their newest MIRV ICBM in so-called retaliation of the U.S.ballistic misslie shield. And certain players in the middle east think they can join the club as well. It's a game of russian roulette at an already crowded table, I'm afraid.
