is it possible to fill-in a sinkhole
Filling-in will be very costly in that case, but there is no any other way to recover the landscape. Also, some geological and geophysical investigations have to be conducted to reveal the source of all the processes involved. In most cases sinkholes occur naturally (in karst-prone areas), but human activity often accelerates the phenomenon disturbing a balance in a groundwater-rock interaction.

Are you asking because you have a subsidence in your backyard?

Thank you, Amgumen. No, I was simply curious to know what could be done to reclaim/shore up that land - whether it was possible to fill it in, or whether it would have to be cordoned off and abandoned.

Hahahaha! Funny! I hope that catches on.
