My first thought: "some people take baseball WAY too seriously". Then, I was angry that the paper would apologize for their editorial. You can't let yourself be intimidated by base thugs!

I'm definitely of two minds about that. When people have shown a propensity for violence of that sort, there's probably a sociopath in the group. The student's safety has to be considered. After all, it IS a college paper, and colleges have other responsibilities along with journalistic integrity.
