Even in armored vehicles, the <A href="http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/now-thats-a-gunshield-the-chavis-turret-03171/">turret gunner is exposed to enemy fires</A>. To combat this danger the Army has sought to retrofit these vehicles with <A href="http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/crows-videogame-vehicle-real-guns-03651/">remotely operated weapons</A>. According to <A href="http://www.janes.com/news/defence/jdw/jdw070828_1_n.shtml">Jane’s</A>, the CROWS is “a vehicle-mounted weapon station that enables remote operation of a variety of weapons, including the MK19 40 mm grenade machine gun, the M2 0.50-cal machine gun, the M240B 7.62 mm machine gun and the M249 5.56 mm squad automatic weapon. The system, which comprises a two-axis stabilized mount containing an electro-optical sensor suite and fire-control software, allows on-the-move target acquisition and first-burst target engagement.”<SPAN id="more-209"></SPAN></P></blockquote></div><div style="margin: 0px 6px 6px 4px;"><table style="font-size: 11px;border-spacing: 0px;padding: 0px;" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr><td style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;"> </td><td align="right" style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;width:107px" width="107"><a href="http://clipmarks.com/share/A88EABA9-1C42-4C06-954F-0BDD6672A11D/blog/" title="blog or email this clip"><img src="http://content6.clipmarks.com/images/c2b-foot.png" border="0" alt="blog it" width="107" height="17" style="border-width:0px;padding:0px;margin:0px;" /></a></td></tr></table></div></div>
