Unless you have a pregnant teenage daughter. Real world experiences change attitudes. In some societies, 12+ is the best time to have children. Many middle class are now waiting to pay off the house etc before they have children. The older the mother, the more likely the child is born with problems.

Force contraception, hell no! Thats to much of the Nanny State. Education is key, not goverment intervention, because it won't stop there. If I had a daughter I would say that they should leave her alone.

They have a right not to have their bodies invaded by the State.

Should rephrase that, the State has no right to invade their bodies that way, especially when birthrates are falling. Its not an epidemic, its just another front for the Nanny State to invade our lives. I am all for strong, working goverment, but I draw the line here.

why does no one ever think to sterilize the little willies? in my imaginings I often think we should have forced sterilization too. In my imaginings. But I strongly believe in any persons right to do anything with their body as long as it's not hurting another person.

Why the extreme thinking though? Why *this* either/or? Why not just quit with the welfare system?

I wrote an interesting paper on this...the thesis being after x amount of children either get on birth control or refuse government assistance. Point was it was creative and had many choices and potentially viable solutions for people who have the government pay for their lack of ability to not breed.
