RecordSage says: It was a great program before, but now - WOW! I was fortunate enough to participate in their beta release of the new version, which has a great online equivalent, including seemless sync between desktop & online. Phenomenal software/online tool. Highly recommend it!!! So is that where you've been hiding can i has invite? I have the basic Evernote and love it. What more can it do?? @arifsali - I haven't, but have had to deal with life's usual dramas... Thanks for noticing though @ashleystar - yes, you can HAVE an invite. @jatfla - you'll love version 3 even more, trust me... I've used it quite a bit as well and now with the online component with sync built-in - plus a spiffed up look (even though it didn't look bad before) - it's great! I'll shoot you an invite. @ashleystar - please e-mail me with your e-mail address and I'll send you the invite. Can you use the new version for taking notes in class? Or is this more for storing information from the web? It's a combination of both. You can take notes on your computer (and when you sync you'll see them online as well, the sync process is fast, automated and seamless) or put them in the online version and it'll sync back to your computer automagically as well. Once you see how easy it is to use and find something written as part of a graphic file (i.e. searching for text within graphics) - you'll never touch another note program. It doesn't support clipping multiple selected text like Clipmarks? You're mixing apples and oranges here, arifsali. Even though the premise of CM and EN is similar - they're very different on various levels. Eric & the boys did a great job with CM, for the things they tried to accomplish - they did so in spades. However, Evernote is different because you can grab imagery that's searchable, you can mark things up on the fly, you can use ink & text, you have an extremely simple, yet very effective way to search and find things (with all due respect, I think CM can stand some improvement there), just to name some differences. Don't forget that you can't just create content in CM, you can in EN (well, you could in CM if you really wanted to, but it's much m... Agree on all counts, but I particularly don't have a need to use clip program for any personal or scholarly use (I use the old and basic version of EN for work); however, I would like to see if I can archive my web wanderings in a social-networking mode (which I do here at CM) with more bells and whistles. So the multiple text clipping was the first road block (the same is the case with Google's Notebook) and I cringed at downloading 50 plus MB file. With all the neat tools EN provides, I believe it is a great program for those who have lots of needs for clipping, but I guess I can live with CM for now (something here always pulls me back). Thank you for the compliment, arifsali, I had no idea I was such a magnet Seriously though, if you'd like to play with it, arifsali - I have an invite I could send you. Just shoot me an e-mail and I'll take care of it. |
