Hey Wiccan,

From my understanding it was pretty standard practice that during the "imperial era" the explorers from the west with their "christian beliefs" often chose to build their churches on the same or within close proximity to the native culture's shrines.

From the perspective of "geomancy" the shrines built by the native people's often correspond with ley lines (energy lines on the earth's surface) etc. So they had a deeper connection with "earth energy grids" than the invaders from the west. It was part of the covert plan to dominate, subjugate the "heathen populace".

For now, they have done quite a job of it, but things are changing - for the better...
