It is the most disgusting trend and it seems to be clearing the bar as far as general acceptance goes. I don't think there can be mounted an intelligent, nuanced enough defense against this tactic. Nearly every argument the right tries to make misses the real mark - sometimes badly. To the point of ridiculously idiotic at times, leaving themselves wide open to counterattack by the left. Like the death panels. Good God! It isn't that they are going to LITERALLY, in this decade or generation, going to decide who lives and dies, by making that fundamental clear choice, one way or the other. If you are going to make that argument you have to describe the long-term subtlety, the slippery-slope, and use examples of what they put in place 50 yrs. ago has led to things today that would have sounded outlandis You have to be prepared when they mention that Reagan & Bush spoke to schoolkids, too. You need someone who can communicate the subtleties in all the hints at indoctrination that have been exposed throughout the campaign and how a "culture war" inside the classroom, similar to in the larger world, is at a potentially damaging level not seen with the above presidents.(I can sense the effective message but I don't know the right words, myself.) I would say that other presidents, esp. Reagan, spoke of traditional America, honor, & values. People like David Schuster & Alex Witt will NEVER BEGIN to get it because they are totally behind anything Obama might express in terms of planting subtle s... All that said, he can also do a great amount of good. If they have changed the "teacher's lesson plan" that seemed to have those tinges of "our great leader", and parents read the text there may be, in the end, no reason to contest the issue. As I've said before, it is sad that we can't all have the freedom to enjoy, trust, and everyday, celebrate our first black president. Sad that he and his crew are so dangerously radical. Sad that Schuster & Witt translate the opposition as being opposed to a message of studying hard and staying in school. This is disgustingly cheap, dishonest, & disingenuous. At this hour they are repeating that lie every 10-15 seconds, all afternoon. AND ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM TO CHARGE RACISM. |
