Thanks for the clip. C.O.P.D. is also one of the most common diseases we find in people who have fallen into Chronic Homelessness. Both smoking and drinking certainly make it worse and can cause it. I have lost a few friends to this disease. All of them were vets who were smokers and alcoholics. My dad has this. I have it. Many years or smoking, drinking, not taking care of oneself. They all contribute. Gave up smoking but the damage was already done. One reason why, although not a born again blah blah, I quietly support the increasing anti-smoking legislation by western countries. Perhaps that should be the next crusade: Persuade, by fair means or foul, the investors in, manufacturers and advertisers of, such products, to spend their dough in other ways. Or am I just a whiner who should have had more sense? At 4 packs a day and former 24 beer a day person,I still believe it is genetic.I recently had a physical and blew my doctor's mind.I am in super shape for someone half my age.So at 54,I say get off the witch hunt! We all knew the risks and took them. Some lucked out and some didn't. |
