If they won't admit they were wrong, then that helps everyone else in the end, because that will be one less barrier in bringing these war criminals to justice. Ignorance of the law is no excuse; neither is denial of the law.

I'm really glad to hear this and hope it's true.

There has been talk about pardons recently and I was wondering if it was to get us ready for sweeping amnesty given to everyone under the sun.

I heard some questions: Can you pardon people who haven't been charged yet with anything? -- like a blanket pardon for Anyone who did torture?

Or, can Bush pardon Cheney? etc.

Can he pardon himself!? (I understand Nixon may have considered that and that apparently there are no limits spelled out about the granting of presidential pardons.

I don't think the founders intended to give criminals the ability to pardon themselves, their friends and co-conspirators.

I'm glad they are "thinking" this way, as it makes prosecution that much more likely.

When Obama says, "we just need to put bush/cheney behind us so the nation can heal", you know he is a sell out, just like pelosi. Throw the bums out!

We won't heal until our war criminal leaders face trial and punishment, just like iraq with saddam.

@polymath22 -I agree that justice and accountability are important, not just for now but as an example for the future. If such destruction and corruption of our country can be allowed with no consequences this would encourage others to do the same.

Maybe we're not hearing the truth, I wonder? There has been a rash of speculation on Obama's policies without any Obama statements to justify them.

Plus other are simply grafting their own ideas onto Obama's root -- with no credibility at all.

[Then, of course, we have people complaining about what Obama won't do.]

It would be unfortunate if this evil was covered up with claims of legality. It's like an outlaw gang putting on badges.
