Reading up on the history of cannibalism one sees that very few ethic groups have been spared this aberration. As for cruelty - that cuts across all races and creeds.

(Cannibalism is still widely practiced in Africa in the form of muti-murders - where body parts, 'ideally' from children, are used as 'medicine'. In war-zones it's not uncommon for lips and ears to be amputated and the victims made to eat their own flesh, or that of a relative. Brutality is what it is, no matter who perpetrates it.
