And we can be reasonably sure that the majority of these green program will be about feeling good and not preserving or protecting squat.

Another problem with ethanol aside from burning our food, is that it's extremely corrosive and does serious damage to car engines.

Rather than investing in a nationwide alternative fuel infratstructure, the government just bought a whole mess of E85 vehicles. The problem is no one said the government actually had to use alternative fuel in their alternative fuel vehicles. Since E85 isn't exactly available most corner gas stations, no one actually used E85 in the government's E85 vehicles. Fun fact: E85 vehicles running on regular gasoline are actually use more gas than their traditional counterparts.
