Burmese media sources say <EM>The First Post</EM> was singled out by name in a report by Information Minister Brigadier General Kyaw Hsan to a committee of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). He accused them of disseminating lies about the September demonstrations and their aftermath. </DIV><BR />An official report on the briefing, in the state-run daily <EM>The New Light of Myanmar</EM>, said Kyaw Hsan complained that reports on recent events in Burma - which he described as “trivial” - had damaged the country’s image abroad.
