A silly initiative? Absolutely; but it makes a terrific point. I have heard more times than I can remember that the main reason for marriage is for procreation, hence the institution must be the sole privilege of a man and a woman. Well, is it not fair to ask that this rationale be respected on all fronts?

A clever, clever chess move. The brilliance of this move just echoes in my brain. Just thinking about it makes me giddy.

I love it!
It's perfect. And succinct. I like succinct.

The legal fly in the ointment? They couldn't legally exclude hetero couples who used in-vitro for procreation, which gay couples also have available.

I'm glad everyone realizes that this really is just a well-pointed joke on the homophobes. So many of us gays are so tired of hearing how one of the main reasons we should not be permitted to marry is because marriage is for the purpose of procreation. Hopefully some thinking people who were not on our side yet, might give some additional thought to the ridiculousness of that argument, and permit us to have equal rights with the rest of society.

I"m totally for gay rights. There, now my black-belt gay sister-in-law won't beat me up.

If the idea that "gay parents create gay children" was reality, then we need to sterilize the heteros as well, because they keep producing the original gay people to begin with..... "chicken or the egg" theory of sexuality.

Seriously, biology creates gay and hetero for a reason. It's mankind who's put the moral spin on things.
