This article could have been wriiten the day after the deadline was imposed. I'd like to know what you or anyone else thinks the US should do now. I think the US should do NOTHING The UN should send in a team to make sure the Iranians are up to code. The US has the ability to defend itself and its allies as needed. We should not be concerning ourselves with this. We should be tired of getting spanked for trying to help others. Perhaps some of these 'worldly' nations need to feel the flame in order to find out the fire is hot. They sure as hell don't want our help. If they do , let them ask..., no, Let them BEG. Good point Skwirl. I agree. Sanctions would only hurt the people of Iraq. The people of Iraq, for the most part, love America. If we impose sanctions it will give Ahmedinijed and the Clerics an opportunity to turn them against us. I think Bush needs to make a Reaganesque ( I know that's funny as it pertains to Bush) evil empire speech and push a regime change policy through congress. The people need to know we are on their side and a democratic Iraq and Afaganistan on their borders will make them itch for freedom. UN did send people in and "ah-I-need-a-job" kicked them out. Everytime an issue of morals comes up it seems the USA must fight to keep Other countries safe. Yet during this moral obligation we recieve the hate mail and discontent. Perhaps, France or Italy or England would like to take the leash for awhile and see if the world view of that country goes to shit or not. As for the Islamic children fighting over ideals, perhaps we should let them have it out and learn their lesson. Give them all nukes and let them destroy... An interesting concept, skwirlinator, certainly has merit in terms of logical consequences... but I don't think the Israelis are ready for your solution. I think the man will have to change his name to 'ah-I-need-a-job' before he gets a chance to toss. However, that's also a problem, because if you play out that scenario and he starts to bend his arm back getting ready to toss, then Israel blows him and his bomb with everyone around him to smithereens... would create another PR problem for Israel, worldwide condemnation of them and US by the same characters that did this during this hezbollah exercise. So, it seems to me that a more proactive solution would be to simply disable the guy's ... |
