Did I read this right? Hearst bought Clipmarks?

Can someone please clarify?

skwirlinator, your clip was from a blog which said;

"Hearst purchased the social shopping site Kaboodle and The New York Times Co. reeled in bookmarking startup Clipmarks and the Freakonomics blog"

but the blog's source was CNET and this was the article on cnet:
"This month alone, Hearst Publications purchased social-shopping site Kaboodle, The New York Times "absorbed" the Freakonomics blog, and bookmarking start-up Clipmarks was rumored to be in the midst of a deal with Forbes."

It's like that game where you sit in a circle and whisper something to the next person. Crazy!
