In this post-singularity, post-scarcity world, any goal a sapient being can name, any goal that doesn't violate the laws of physics, or fall apart under its own inconsistencies, can be achieved. But that doesn't mean all problems have been solved...

Orion's Arm is the next evolutionary development of SF. It is a complete genre in-the-making, an interactive hard (physics and technology) and soft (social sciences) science space opera, a joint effort in science fiction worldbuilding, a forum for cutting edge science fiction ideas, a way of exploring a possible future that is at once alien and yet familiar, and terrifyingly possible. Here you have the opportunity to explore a vast universe, as well as to contribute your own ideas and input, helping to create an entire new way of seeing things.

There are some very SMART people working in this project. I find it the most thrilling and entertaining Science fiction work being created in today's world.

Because the Orion's Arm universe is so big and so complex, it can seem intimidating to the newcomer. In fact the basics are actually very simple, and can be intuitively grasped by anyone with a love of science fiction and a half-decent imagination.
