Best to stay away from all farmed fish.

I think farmed salmon still has good levels of omega-3s, the likely problem with the farmed tilapia is he one with farmed beef - the animal's diet. If you feed them items high in omega-6s (such as corn) their bodies will be high in omega-6s. Thus if you get grass-fed beef it is much healthier (higher levels of omega-3s) than grain-fed beef. It would be ironic if grass-fed beef where healthier than this tilapia.

Figures. It was one of the more inexpensive fish and had a nice, mild favor. I don't know about where others live, but even in Florida the price per lb. for fish exceeds T-bone!

From my research, the main problem with eating farmed salmon is the massive amounts of anti-biotic feed to the fish via the fish pellets

Also I noticed the flesh is kinda mushy.

Sounds like old fish - anti-biotic! Yikes. Needs further research.

Ha ha not all farmed fish are like this just as not all fresh-water fish are from polluted waterways.Australian Silver perch (Omnivore) has highest Omega-3 and in wild is tainted by algae (off flavour) but purged in clean water recirculation system (sweet water) is one of the healthy ones.Carnivores "." have a higher protein diet and different fats its too easy to generalise but fish are great in diet.True but new studies take some keeping up with!!
