陳總統晚間出席「長昌配」首場造勢晚會，他當場秀出中華民國代表退出聯合國大會等三張照片，他說，相片中的前外交部長周書楷被趕出聯合國，名牌上寫著「CHINA」的位置空下來了，接著坐下來的是中華人民共和國的外交官，坐在中國的位置上笑嘻嘻，</P><P>
他說，這代表中國在聯合國的席次，本來是中華民國的，後來因為二七五八號決議，由中華人民共和國取代中華民國，原來的位置被坐走了，如何回去聯合國，要趕走中華人民共和國，才有可能搶到位置，有可能將人家趕走嗎？</P><P>
陳總統說，這三張相片讓大家知道，以中華民國返聯和中華人民共和國爭席次，是行不通的事情。</P><P>
他表示，1991年謝長廷和當時的外交部次長蔣孝嚴辯論，當時謝長廷就主張以台灣名義入聯，現在要入聯，舉行公投，這就是謝長廷當立委時，第一個提出的主張，現在是按照他的主張在推動。</P><P>
陳總統說，大家這麼打拚，衝兩百萬連署，明年大選八百萬人民領票、支持通過，若讓馬英九當選總統，改成中華民國返聯，大家現在的努力就毫無價值了。 </P></DIV>
