Clipped from an interesting article in the NY Times about Mukesh D. Ambani, the most powerful business person in India.

I think it 's fascinating and exciting to see how a connected, exposed world (largely due to the Internet) is leading to massive changes in customs and practices that have lasted centuries.

The combination on the Internet and alternative energy should make the 21st century prove to be a bridge between the old and the new.

ummmmmmmmmm a country's population and relation to it's size must have enough sustainables to provide for the population or face hardship and i fear that the internet won't be enough!

If the internet can be a tool to reduce poverty and suffering then bravo. However it's the differences that make this world interesting and I wonder if we will end up in a bland homogenization (which would still be better than poverty and suffering).

It's easy for Ambani to say things like that from his ivory tower....All that the rest of enlightened India can do in the meantime is hope for the best from things like the internet
