righthand says:
"Desir was put on the floor, and a nurse tried CPR, to no avail, Oliver said. A "box", possibly a defibrillator, also was applied but didn't function effectively, he said.

"I cannot believe what is happening on the plane," he said, sobbing. "She cannot get up, and nothing on the plane works."

Oliver said he then asked for the plane to "land right away so I can get her to a hospital," and the pilot agreed to divert to Miami, 45 minutes away. But during that time, Desir died, Oliver said.

"Her last words were, 'I cannot breathe,"' he said.

Might the oxygen not work for security reasons, either genuinely or an excuse.

The overhead masks are released automatically when the cabin pressure drops, they are not activated manually. Every flight is supposed to have a regular oxygen tank and mask, though, which was apparently empty (or the flight attendant didn't know how to use it)

ROOOO
American Airlines is indeed a very scary airline. This was pure negligence and should be investigated immediately. Faulty equipment on aircraft should not be tolerated. American Airlines wants to be the biggest and best, but it is the worst. No oxygen at 37,000 feet in the air? I wonder if the drop down oxygen masks work or if they are faulty too.

The FA needs to be fired. Obviously, she/he knows nothing of compassion or emergency situations. Did she/he ever have any in-flight safety training? It seems AA is lacking in the training department of its personnel. Something is seriously wrong here. I certainly do not want my life in AA's hands.
