Maybe I'm on the "we can do it if we try" side of the fence because I REALLY want this one. So, optimism means you hope the Earth is doomed to catastrophe? My faith is in the science not the politics and the free market not the socialist green designs. USA has reduced emissions much more than the signers of Kyoto, which seems to suggest Europeans know that Anthropogenic Global Warming is hot air. Nah. That's not what I hope. In fact, I think we agree on the point. And since there are many definitions of sustainability out there. Let me clarify which I'm using for my personal opinion: From: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/sustainability 1. To keep in existence; maintain. 2. To supply with necessities or nourishment; provide for. 3. To support from below; keep from falling or sinking; prop. For this/these definitions, I feel it our up to individuals (who live, breathe, eat, procreate, operate, and also run businesses) to take care of ourselves and our resources so government doesn't feel they have to do it for us.
