I don't have much of a problem with this, we all know what we put on the net doesn't go away simply by turning our computers off. If it helps foil terrorist plots or catch those that prey on children through the internet, then I'm for it. However such info should be safe from casual scrutiny and obtainable by a warrant in most cases. Anything we post or any emails sent or received is capable of becoming public information by way of subpoena, warrant or hacker.
We live in a dangerous world and those fighting to keep us safe should be allowed access to available tools to do so. I am willing to allow that access, within reason, to help keep the country safe.

This sounds like a carry-over from the Bush Administration and I would be surprised if Obama let it go through.
